Spot Reducing ….The Myth keeps on going…..The Fat doesn’t go anywhere!!
For 30 years I have been asked, “Elissa what can I do for my belly fat or the fat on my upper, inner thigh, and let’s not forget the triceps!!” Many people fall for this idea that training a specific muscle will result in fat loss in that area. (probably because we are pounded with false information daily!!) Truth is….IT WONT !! The commercials on tv promise the inner thigh. abs and triceps will lean out if you buy this gadget, or do this exercise. You can do abdominal exercises all day and it will not take the fat away in that area. In fact working the larger muscle groups will help more! Lunges, squats and pushups for example. They burn more calories and work more muscles! Add in those other smaller exercises, like abs and dips, I do! But don’t think doing dips will get rid of the fat on the back of your arms, Ladies!! Burn more calories, build more muscle and in turn increase your metabolism. This will help you lose the fat. Add to this a clean diet full of fresh foods. Get rid of anything processed, and drink lots of water…then you will be on your way to a healthier you!!
